“ Food was very impressive! Pig stomach soup was better than YM and SSG, #iykyk. Can feel the lips getting sticky from the collagen in the soup. Cold crab was very fresh and sweet. Raw marinated cockles' marinade was just right, been to S*** who specialise in this dish and their marinade was damn salty. Irish duck was fattier than the normal we are used to having but the flesh is so tender. First tike all of us trying the Yam Pancake, diced prawns and cubed yam on a thin and crispy batter and sprinkled with peanuts, my friends love this so much they ordered a second helping. Oyster omelette was decent but can't beat CS. Steamed prawns with preserved radish was very good as well, the sweet and savoury sauce makes u feel like ordering white rice. Sautéed celtuce with preserved veg, not commonly seen in restaurant. The celtuce was so crunchy and juicy. Claypot rice with waxed meat, they scrapped out a whole plate of sorched rice (饭焦) for us, confirmed pass! Dessert was very weak here, so can give it a pass. Special mention to the auntie who was serving our table. She took good care of us , refilling tea and changing our plates. She even said bye to us when she went home. Kudos to the great service by her . ”
“ I’ve been wanting to try this Teochew-style private dining restaurant. We had a private room where we could bring our own drinks—a good thing since we finished five bottles of wine and a bottle of whiskey! The appetizers were a fantastic start—fried whitebait fish, soft shell crab, chilled cockles, squid, and fried beancurd skin. They paired beautifully with champagne and white wine. The cold crab with Shaoxing wine was flavorful but a bit too sweet for my taste; I prefer the traditional version with vinegar dipping sauce. The chilled half-cooked cockles were my favorite, though the squid was also good. The steamed turbot with preserved vegetables was delicious, though I think simple steaming would better highlight the fish’s freshness. The Irish roast duck stood out, with perfectly cooked meat and well-balanced spices, while the stir-fried kailan with lard was simple but incredibly tasty. To end, we had fried kway teow with preserved vegetables—it was decent but lacked wok hei and was slightly oily. The claypot rice was a highlight, especially the crispy burnt rice. A standout dish was the special chicken wrapped in pig stomach, served in a peppery, collagen-rich soup slow-cooked for hours. Pre-ordering this dish was worth it, and it was the perfect way to round out the meal! ”
“ Chilled full cream crab was fantastic. The crab milt was so soft and creamy, tasted just like uni. The crab meat was fresh and firm. Paired with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, this dish was just heavenly. Other dishes were sumptuous as well, except for the yam paste. But in their defence, after trying the yam paste at Cheng Hu Tian Teochew Restaurant, (check out my review & photos) everywhere else just paled in comparison. ”
“ I went to Yi Qian Private Dining and had an exceptional dining experience. The Hong Kong chef truly knows his craft; the fish head dish was among the best I’ve ever tasted. The Big Stomach Chicken Soup was also outstanding. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and elegant, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and courteous throughout our meal. I will definitely be returning to Yi Qian Private Dining. If you’re looking for an exquisite Chinese dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! ”
“ Had a hearty lunch with family to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The food here tastes delicious, they have Tim Sum menu too. Some of their top signature dishes include the Irish Duck & Pig Stomach & Chicken Soup, which is rich in flavour & ingredients are tender. The prices for these 2 dishes are on the high side - $108 & $128 respectively, but worth a try if u are first time here (might need to order in advance). The wine here is nice too ”
“ Love love love the irish duck! Had a really good dinner here, every dish was savoured and just chef’s kiss! So glad my friend brought me and have already recommended to a lot of more people! A perfect place to have special celebrations as they have private rooms and the restaurant gives a very posh vibe. ”
